Unsigned Only Semi-Finals

I'm happy to announce that one of my songs has made it to the semi-final round of the Unsigned Only Music Competition! For those of you who don't know, the competition is based in Nashville, TN and gives unsigned artists, like myself, the chance to be heard by music industry folks and other songwriters. They offer a bunch of cool prizes including "one-on-one mentoring from a group of upper echelon music industry executives, ranging from label presidents to heads of A&R", among others (like the $20,000 grand prize).

The song I entered is called "Angel". I wrote it years ago and recorded it in Austin, TX with a fantastic musician/producer named Mark Addison. Unfortunately, I never released the songs we recorded but I've always felt strongly about them, especially "Angel". I decided on a whim to enter it in the contest with a few others and wouldn't ya know it? I've always gotten great feedback about that song. Once I had an A&R rep from EMI call me about it. He heard it on a compilation CD during SXSW and said it was the best song on there! Now, I don't claim this is the best thing since sliced bread, but it definitely has something catchy about it. If you want to hear Angel you can go to my music page and find it under the album entitled Pilot.

Although I'm hoping for the best, I'm honestly just grateful to have made it this far. I'll keep you updated as I find out more. Now I'll go back to playing my guitar. Ciao for now.
